About Me

My photo
Hello, my name is Jamie. I am a stay at home mom of two from Coeur d'Alene, ID. I have 2 children, a girl and a boy. We are fortunate to be able to homeschool and this year we began the new adventure of high school. I am blessed to have been married to my soul mate for over 17 years now and look forward to countless more years and memories. My favorite thing to do is to scrapbook and I have been scrapping for over 22 years.I enjoy learning new techniques and discovering that I can never push myself too far. When it comes to scrapbooking I firmly believe that there are no rules except the ones you break!

School Orientation

It's here, it's time for school. We made the decision last year that we would no longer homeschool and that the kids would go to school this year. Well, today was the new student orientation at North Idaho Christian School. The kids got to check out their classrooms, meet their teachers, meet a couple kids who would be in class with them, and ice cream!!! First impressions were good and now we are excited for school to start. Well, the kids are excited. I'm excited for them, but I'm also very sad that they won't be home with me anymore. I think that I will miss them very much!

At the end of this post I am including two episodes of Family Tube! I interviewed both Grace and Elijah and you can watch both interviews.

Grace will be in Mrs. Litterell's 4th Grade class. There will be 21 kids in her class. She is very excited to get started with school. Grace will also be joining the elementary X-Country team, which will begin on Wednesday next week.

Please note: Grace is #1 (lol)

Elijah will be in Mrs. Pfau's 2nd Grade class. There will be 13 kids in his class. He is, also, very excited to begin his new adventure at NICS.

Coeur d'Alene Fair and Rodeo

Jason got off early from work yesterday so that we could visit the Coeur d'Alene Fair and Rodeo! So excited, as I hadn't been to a rodeo in years. My kids asked what a rodeo was and I felt pure shame. How could they not know what a rodeo was. Well, we had to fix that and quickly. Off to the fair and rodeo. Now I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed myself. This was such a well put together fair. It was smaller than the Spokane fair and less crowded - maybe that is why I enjoyed it ;).

These turtles were so desperate to escape - they kept trying and trying.

We caught a small parade - gotta love the tractors!

The kids got to try making flour. They ground wheat kernels into bowls.

And earned accomplishment ribbons for doing a great job!

Then it was time for the rodeo!!!!

Aren't my two little farmers just adorable?!

Well, we definitely couldn't leave the fair without having something deep fried. Pumpkin Donuts was a must!!! And yes they were delicious!

Till next time!

Creative Fun

Just some highlights from the last couple of weeks. Elijah and I had a lunch date at the Valley Mall. He choose to go to Pita Pit and it was a great choice. Their food is very yummy as you can probably see!

Elijah had been very creative with his legos. We found some great ideas on Pinterest for him to build and the pictures below are an example of one of his creations. He made a candy dispenser.

Grace has been creative this week as well. She has shown a great aptitude for drawing!

Not only that, but we are loving the ever popular adult coloring books. Our favorite place to color is outside on the picnic bench towards the end of the day when it is nice and shady.

Grace and I went on a grocery shopping date at Super One and of course we took advantage of the 25 cent ice cream cones!

Thanks so much for stopping by and seeing what is up with the Arthurs!

Summer Days at the Beach

This week was cooler yet still very warm. It's getting to be near the end of the tourist season here in
Coeur d'Alene which means it's a little easier to get down to the beach in the heart of the city. So, we went twice this week.

It was gorgeous out and the views were incredible. It just made me so appreciative of the world God gave us to live in. These pictures just do not do the view justice!

Day two on the beach.

Two very wonderful friends - Brenda DeJong and Laura Kipp

Suprise visit from Nana and Papa who were out kayaking with long time friends Janice and Dude Raykovich! They even took a moment to take Grace and Elijah out for a row!

Reminder: Above is a video. You will only be able to view it from the blog itself. Please click on the title of this post to view the video.

It was a wonderful week with two visits to the beach. Love these friends and the great memories we made!

Till next time Blessings from,
